Quite possibly, any of the great things listed above could be the reason why Long Beach Lodge Resort was awarded Conde Nast Traveler "Reader's choice" award in 2008 and 2012. It was also awarded TripAdvisor "Travellers' Choice Award" in 2013 as well as many other awards.
The iconic Great Room is the centre of the Resort, designed to mimic the warmth of a West Coast oceanfront home, offering all guests a place to relax and socialize with comfy chairs in front of a massive granite wood-burning fireplace, and floor to ceiling windows with a view of Cox Bay beach, the surfers and the open surf. The Great Room offers full service dining and an opportunity to experience the innovative fresh, local cuisine prepared by the Chef.
With Cox Bay beach rated as one of the best surfing beaches in North America, Hackett opened the Surf Club Centre at Long Beach Lodge Resort in the Spring of 2012. The Lodge began as the dream of owner Tim Hackett, who fell in love with the Tofino area when camping on the beach with some friends in the 1960's. Two of Tim's passions, West Coast architecture with cedar shingle siding and the ocean, are evident in the design of every aspect of this 61 room Resort, (41 Lodge Rooms & 20 self-contained 2-bedroom Rainforest Cottages) located on 8 acres of oceanfront property on one of the most beautiful beaches in the world with its pounding surf, expansive sand and glorious sunsets.
Tofino ranked as "Best Surf Town" in North America, Outside Magazine, 2010.
Vancouver Island ranked "top island in Canada" by Condé Nast Traveler Magazine "Readers' Choice Awards" in 2012.
